Browning A-bolt for sure. Dont get a tikka imnot a huge fan. If i were you though i would get a savage in stainless then replace the stock with a bell and carlson savages can run for as cheap as $300.

Tikka T3, hands down. Fantastic accuracy out of the box. Smooth action. Same stiff cold hammer floating barrel as the Sako that won't whip as some other mfg. barrels. Smooth adjustable (not necessary to adjust) trigger. Crowned muzzle. Wood or synthetic your preference.
You can pay more for a rifle. But you won't find one for the money more accurate than the T3.

I love the Browning A-Bolt in 300 Win. Mag. for whitetails. It's got plenty for deer, elk, or bear. I own 3 Brownings and have never been let down by one yet! I may add a 4th soon, in either 25 WSSM or 300 WSM. Nothing against Tikka or Sako, but, I have never found a gun that shoots as good as my Browing A-Bolts! I have also read some good things about the TC Icon. May have to find out for myself.

All depends on how much money you want to throw at it. From your post I would look at a .270 or .270WSM. Me personally I own a .270 Weatherby Ultralight and a 300WSM Sako finnlight. The jury is still out on the Weatherby, but they will have to pry the sako from my dead hands. Its sweet. I bought the.270 Weatherby because of reading O'Connor many moons ago, and thats what both my dad and uncle used while I was growing up (I have visions of eventually huntung a sheep in the next 25 years).

Thanks for all the response. I finally came to realize that I couldn't decide on just one rifle, so I ordered two.
1. Sako 85 Hunter stainless in 300WSM topped off with a Swarovski PH 30mm 3x12
2. Tikka SS/Lite 25-06 with a Leupold VX-III 3.5x10.
Can't wait to shoot both outfits
