Long distance rifle range

I'm looking for a long distance rifle range (400+ yards) in central Ohio. Any suggestions.

www.wheretoshoot.org is one option to try, haven't used the site in years, just google rifle ranges etc...you should come up with something, here in IL I find 100yd and 200yd even 200yd rangers are hard to comeby without being a member to some special range/club, so good luck!

It is a shame that more public rifle ranges to 300-500yds don't exist, at the very least 200yds needs to be the minimum.

We tried to set up a 1000 yard range here in Mid Michigan. Went through the township to get a special use permit and when word got out you should have seen the people come out of the woodwork to oppose it. We could have complied with the rules and regs, but the cost for engineering and design (not to mention liability insurance) made it cost prohibitive. Like was said above, best bet is to go in with some buddies and buy a "long" ten acre parcel (110 yards x 440 yards) and rent a dozer for a weekend. I'm pretty well set up out to 500 yards from my deck.

haha, absolutely ridiculous that guys are saying buy 10 acres.....to shoot! not saying bad idea, saying how crazy it is that we cannot find a place to shoot....because of regs, people, etc...

though when I eventually buy a farm, I do plan to setup my own long range.....where else would I shoot really? Should be a federal law....least 1 public rifle range to 600yds per state! If not 1000yds!

Life don't suck where you can shoot what you want, when you want, and where you want...........

We have a 1,000 yard club here in Morgantown, WV you can join, but that might be a bit too far for you to drive. Also the cost might be prohibitive, we had to raise our annual dues to $50 this year. Tom.

Maybe a little drive but try Camp Perry firing range in Port Clinton, Ohio (1000 yards range)
