RE: thoughts on 7mm ultramag

I bought a 7mm Rem Mag last year, and I love it. I think the 7mm RUM would just be that much of a better thing. How can you argue with such a flat trajectory and down range energy. I chose the 7mm Rem Mag because it has a wider selection of factory loads ( unfortunately I don' t reload yet- don' t have the room for it). If a person does reload, the 7mm RUM would be a GREAT choice for medium to long range hunting.

bear72 - I shoot 150 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips out of my 7mm Rem Mag for deer and 160 grain Partitions for Elk, and I' ve been thrilled with both bullets. I thought the bonded core Sciroccos might hold together better than the Nosler BT at the increased velocity levels of the RUM while still providing the advantages associated with a BT.
