Are Kimber .22LR conversion kits as good as the Kimber rimfire?

I am wanting a .22LR pistol to shoot open sights with and was wondering if the kimber .22 conversion kits are reliable, or should I just buy the kimber rimfire? I have a ruger mark II, but I use it with a red dot and I bought a sig mosquito toshoot open sights with, but it is a piece of ****. Any other options besides a walther (buddy has one and it sucks too) or a buckmark that is as reliable as the rugers?

S&W Model 41. One of the best there is or ever was in a semi-automatic. Tom.
