Used Benelli Nova may go just over your budget but even new they can be had for under $300.

If your looking for new I would also suggest the H&R Pardner pump. The one I had was nicer than both my mossberg and 870 in both fit and finish, and it was under 200 bucks. The down side is it's an 870 clone from China.

You could probably also find a Maverick for under 200 bucks, and like said used 500's and 870's should be around there as well.

For another 50 bucks or so you could get a new 500.

870 would be my first choice but there are still thousands of mossberg 500's out there still shooting away without troubles.
