cleaning my .22 bolt

RE: cleaning my .22 bolt
If you have a cleaning kit that has interchangable brushes then just pick one up for the .22. Kleenbore and Outers both sell these units and they aren't very expensive.

First, in reference to the above post, make certain your present rod is suitable for .22. Rifle rods usually come in 2 sizes (now 3 with the 17) for 22 up to 7mm and >7mm.
I tend to agree somewhat on the cleaning issue. Way back in the mid-80s I shot NRA 3 position and 4 position .22 and used a Winchester 52 Target rifle. I had literally thousands of rounds through that bore and never cleaned it. And with the right ammo, it would punch every bullet into the 10X ring if I did my part.
Now with a new rifle, If, it shoots good clean, by all means keep it clean. If at all possible, clean from the breech and not the muzzle.
