Hey everybody my friend is just getting into hunting and has 2 choices a 25-06 and 6mm Rem doesnt no witch one to pick can u help my friend

Of those 2 choices I'd go with the 25-06 all day long. It shoots flat and is probably more readily available than the 6mm as well.

Gosh this one is easy. 25-06 hands down, the recoil is very mild & the results are awesome.

I thought you said he had a choice? The 25-06 no decision to make.

While they're both fine rounds, if he has to choose to have only one of those 2, then 25/06 for sure.

No a 25-06 is too light for elk & moose.
The 30-06 is a good starting point for a elk/moose rifle.

I have them both and if given the choice between the two........as much as I love my 6mm Rem, I'd have to go with the 25.06. It's just a better all around round.

By most people's standards, no. But if he uses a sturdy bullet and keeps his shots within say 250 yards, then it will definitely kill an elk or moose. I have a friend who has killed several elk with his 25-06. I've even known people who have killed elk with a .243 from close range. However, I'd suggest getting a cartridge with a little more oomph.
