Is it a Featherweight? What caliber? Is it a Super Grade? Is it a gun you need to complete your collection? These are all determining factors to consider. Get the Blue Blook of Gun Values by S.P. Fjestad if your looking at it as an investment only. This is the Bible of gun values.

Just asking the question. It's a general statement and one to consider when asking the value of a Winchester.I am not a gun encyclopedia so I have no idea when the featherweights began production without looking it up. Quite frankly I don't care. I probably own the only pre 64 model 70 I'll ever have and don't plan a parting with it so it doesn't matter what the value is. To me it's pricless and I wouldn't sell it fora "BUNCH" of money.

I'd need a much more detailed description. If by "good" you mean NRA Good, then the price would be much too high. I sold a Pre 64 Model 70 30-06 last year at auction. The blueing was probably 95%, but the forearm had a fairly large chip out of it. It brought about $700.00 which I thought was entirely too high based on the stock, but evidently the buyer and the guy bidding against him didn't.

Never dilly dally on a Pre64, just buy it now and figure it out later.........you'll always get your money back bare minimum.
