Standard Base or Dual Dovetail?

Which kind of base do you prefer, standard or dual dovetail?

I FIRMLY believe in buying the scope you are going to "marry" to the rifle for life and mounting it as solid as you can. I have actually had the rear windage adjustment screws come loose while in the field.

Dual Dove Tail. Good luck.

None of the above. Talley steel rings, Talley Lightweights and I have tried Dednutz mounts.

DD and Burris Signiture rings is the way to go on a heavy recoiler. Thats how I went on my ML and 300Mag, and I've never had to re-zero. I've got a standard mount om my .243, and I've had decent luck with it, but thats not a high-demand application.

I have dove tail on the front and one with the windage adjustment on the rear. so far no problems with it on my 300 saum.

If not a Ruger, then Dual Dovetail...Although I have installed a few Dead Nutz, and they seem tough as well..

Neither. I will not use Leupold mounts at all with the exception of their PRW and QRW sets.

Warne for reasonably priced rings and bases, about the same as Leupold standard.

Talley for one of the best.

Quick release if you are EVER going to be flying or traveling with your firearm.

I've used both standard and DD mounts in the past. Honestly I like DD... I have had guns (Remington) that have not had the holes drilled/tapped straight, and if there is an issue, your scope will not seat flush in the rings... the standard one allows for windage, but its putting a bandaid on a bullet wound.

Are these the Talley Lightweights some are talking about?
