Guns are tools to be used and passed down generation to generation. If you don't have scratches and dings in it you aren't hunting hard enough with it. I have guns passed down to me that are covered in scratches and dings that is where the history they speak comes out.

Heck, even my "ugly" guns are all scratched/beat up. I buy a gun to use it, and I use them hard. :D

you see thats the crappy part about the wood stock they scrath pretty easy but who cares it's ascrath thats just like if u cut ur self really bad and need stiches or staple that scars gonna be there for quit a long time but what can u do u knwo who cares if u got a scrath on ur gun it's not a fashion show when it comes to hunting

i love my guns. wood stocks are nice to have and use but i like using a synthetic if i'm gonna go beat the mess out of it.

One of my brothers has a Remington ADL with a synthetic stock that he calls his "redneck gun"...I prefer a nice walnut stock, I've owned my Ruger since 1980 and have it bedded and free floated...I removed the stock and sealed the barrel channel so I don't have problems with the group wandering...Every 4-5 years I refinish the stock...It has a few dings and dents, it's called patina...:D

I like to drag my prettiest guns behind the truck, tie em up to the ball hitch on a gravel road for a mile, kinda like those torture tests....on that one show, just to kinda get them ready to hunt with, can't be hunting with a new looking rifle, bad luck!

I agree with most here, I'll hunt with any gun....pretty or not. I also prefer wood to synthetic.

Just do as I do.. Get you a gun for every occasion.. .

I use my Encore or Remington Model 7 in Synthetic when in a climber cause I don't want to haul my wood guns up on a rope..

When I am going to a box blind or stalking I take the Laminates or the Wood stock..

Of course these are just excuses to buy more guns.. :D
