Online gun purchase
Looking to get a new lever 30/30 and have been thinking of looking around online and comparing to the "superstores" that are local. Being that i live in Dallas, we have Bass Pro, Cabelas, Dick's, Wal-Mart, Academy, and others. Does any have any opinions of online stores that might have the guns for a better price? Also, letting me know the name of the site might help as well.
Thanks in advance everyone. |
RE: Online gun purchase

You can sometimes find a good deal on Gun Broker but by the time you pay to ship to an FFL and such, its not that great of a deal. Gun Broker is nice to get an estimate how much a particular gun you want to sell is worth, or find what you may have to pay for one.

Price usually includes shipping in lower 48
Shop around for the FFL on the receiving end (use the directory on gunbroker) No sales tax. IMHO, much better than gun stores. My last half dozen gun transactions have been on gunbroker.com |
RE: Online gun purchase
On the Gunbroker site, there is a FFL list. Find the ones in your area and ask them what they can do for you. With shipping and FFL fees from a gunbroker purchase, going directly to a dealer can save money.

RE: Online gun purchase
My experience is that for a gun shop to stay open they have to give you butkus for what you want to sell and overcharge for what they want to sell and that gives them the margin to survive.
On gunbroker, the transaction stands by itself. |

If you weren't dead set on new, I would suggest checking local pawn shops. There are some very good deals to be had. That is of course if you consider someone's used gun your new one.
