Any and all GLOCKS I like. The Glock 23 I have been carrying off duty for the last 12 years, been thinking of getting the GLOCK 30 in .45ACP.

If you ever have a crack head charging you, that 9mm will take him down but it will take sometime, go with the .40S&W out of the two you mentioned

I'd go with the 40 if you plan on CCW someday. But, I'd look for something better than the S&W Sigma. I had a S&W40VE and it had a horrible trigger. I'm glad I sold it. I was given a good deal on a H&K USP40 a couple of years ago and there is a world of difference in a quaility gun. Never owned a Glock but how many thousands of law enforcement officers carry them? Thatought to tell you something.

On duty we carry the full size H&K USP in .40, I don't care for it, but it is one hell of well made firearm

When I made the choice between a 9 and a 40, a fellow at the gunshop over heard me talking to the guy behind the counter and he chimed in. Turns out he was an off duty officer, and had been involved in a police shooting. He said after the shooting he traded his 9mm for a 40. I won't go into details, but listening to the guy definately made an impact on my purchase.

RE: 9mm vs 40

I would for sure not get the sigma I havent heard many satisfied customers with those. I own a glock model 22 (40 S&W), model 23(compact 40) and a model 26 (subcompact 9mm). Glocks dont feel the best but I know at the end of the day it will be reliable and accurate. My latest gun to carry is the model 26, and I really like it. This is my first 9 but its much more enjoyable to shoot then my 40's. I like the 9 and 40. The only downside I have with the 40 is the cost in ammo, and over double the amount of hand recoil. I have heard several debates on which one is better, and I dont have any first hand experience to offer but all I can give are facts. Depending on what you are going to do with the gun will have the most influence on what caliber to purchase. I hands down enjoy shooting my 9 more then my 40's. But if you are carrying some like to carry the larger round. At one time the .38 was carried by LE and considered a decent round. Both the 9 and 40 are light years ahead of that.

Either one would be fine.....get the one you want, practice, become proficient with it and have fun. I highly recommend looking into the Springfield XD line...GREAT pistols!

My stepson loves to by and sell psitols and often!!!! He has owned Glock, HK, Sig Sauer, Karr, Kel-Tec etc ety etc and he wouldn't trade his HK 40 (and it is the only one he hasn't sold)for multiples of any of them including the Glocks. I shot all of them he has had and I have to agree with him.
