Air Rifles
 

Anyone have any experience with Gamo air rifles? I am thinking about an air rifle for practice in my garage as I have room for a 10 yard range. Don' t want anything too expensive and Dick' s has a sale on a Gamo 220 and a Gamo Shadow.

Gamo makes a good air rifle. The shadow is a good one to get. Gamo is good for plinking or small game hunting. Gamo' s are not air, they are spring loaded and very strong. Some of the guns reach over 1000 fps. You really can' t go wrong with buying one of these guns, but they are both powerful and fast pellet rifles and 10 yards is hardly enough to do this gun any justice.

Smitty-Thanks for the info. I think I' ll go for the Shadow. I realize that this is a close range, but I have an 85 yard range in my backyard and can use it with regular firearms when the weather is decent. With the Gamo I can shoot after dark and during bad weather instead of going nuts from cabin fever.-Bill

good luck with the gun. Wether it be open sight or scope, i would sight in the gun at 30 yards.

Its been my expereince that gamos ARE *#&% i' ve gone threw 3 in the past year. i finnaly just said screw it and got an rsw they aregood guns for about the same price. but i do give gamo crdit for great customer serrvice.

Not much action on air rifle questions. I wonder if there is another board somewhere that I could check.

I' d stay away from the Gamo' s. The quality isn' t the best.

Go to www.airgunforum.com , it will give you several links to various airgun forums.

Take a look at the base level RWS, BSA, and german made Beeman rifles. I' d stay away from the cheap Spanish made Beeman guns.

It' s been interesting. I' ve been on a couple of forums and have found that:
1. Gamo makes great guns
2. Gamo guns are a piece of ****.

All I am looking for is something reasonably accurate that I can shoot on an indoor range of about 10-yards in my garage. It would give me something to keep my shooting eye in tune when the nights are long and the days are filled with snow and freezing temperatures. Like now for instance.

I live on 67 acres with an 85 yard range in my backyard so during the day in decent weather I can shoot my .22, 30-06, .222, etc. I' m also about 20 minutes from my club' s 200-yard range.

Maybe I' ll just get a Red Ryder BB gun for in the garage.;)

Star1pup: the people who say that gamos are good guns eith one, work for gamo, or two were not smart enough to buy a diffrent gun so they defend the peice of crap that they bougt

No i don' t i have experience with gamo but i do have expericence with powerline rifles and espeacliy the 880 serius the best there is i own 3 power lines two of them are 880.
