What's it worth.........
I got a S&W .38 special model 36, in blue, with two leather holsters, one shoulder, one belt, and 2 box's of ammo that was my mothers when she worked for the government. It's in like new condition. I'm looking to get rid of it, since I never shoot it, and thought with the big push for conceal carry, this is a perfect womens purse gun. I took it down to the local used gun shop, and he shot me a price of around $135.00. Is he in line? Is it worth what he says? or is he under pricing me? I could post some pics if you need to see it. thanks. Scott.

RE: What's it worth.........
I would say the $135.00 is low. Check out gunbroker.com and compare, but these prices can be inflated. Also check out smith-wessonforum.com lots of good info and help there. I would say it would be worth around $200 or more.

A model 36 in like new condition will bring $300.00 in most gunshops. Of course the shop can't pay that much for them for resale. You'd be better off selling it to a private individual. I'd give you $200.00 it myself :)

Hey Mastevt,if jtb1967 doesn't take it,I would like it. A friend of mine has one and he brought it to me to look at it,and I liked it. I only have one handgun a Sig Saur P229,and I am looking for a revolver as a concealed carry once I get my permit, and the model 36 might be good for me.
And I live in Independence,Mo. not too far from you. |
RE: What's it worth.........
I would say at least 250$ if it is in good condition.
