I had the same thing happen with my 1100 turned out to be WAL-MART AMMO
they buy factory seconds thats why there so cheap.
don't buy new spring unless it broke.

I just took the spring out and cleaned everything real good. It wasn't real dirty, but now the action does seem stiffer, so I'll shoot it this weekend and find out.
