i reallty have been looking at a rem with a mil spec barrel at impactguns.com for $950 the barrel is suposed to be the same barrel on the us sniper rifle m24 wich i have read some reviews on the gun and people are saying it shoots .5 groups at 100 yards i have a rem model 770 that shoots that all day long and was half the price.just don't want to keep on using my hunting rifles as target rifles.
The 710s and no doubt the 770s shoot well, just not as well as a high end rifle like a Remington with a 5-R barrel or any other higher end rifles, and they certainly will not shoot with a a 5-R barrelled Remington 'all day long.' the 5-R barrel is designed to foul far less than standard rifling profiles so that you can shoot it 'all day long' and not have a significant drop in accuracy.
