h&r ultra slug hunter

Does anyone know what the twist rates are on a h&r ultra slug hunter 12ga? This is an older model, model 980 built in 1997.

I've shot winchester platinum tip sabots and partition golds and lightfield exps...

exps by far were the most accurate. Does anyone know if the twist rate on this model is too slow for the higher velocity sabots? I can't seem to get consistent accuracy with the winchesters....occasionaly I can group them at 1-1.5" them at 50yards, but every now and then i'll get a weird flier in random places....

when I shot the lightfields in the past I could get them in one hole at 50yards.

anyone know???

I believe the USH has a twist of 1:35 for the 12ga. As for the flyers, that has been my experience in all guns tested using the platinum tips.

Mine shot the best with platinum tips and didn't like lightfields, go figure.

Mine did not like any of the light fast ammo, like under 400 grns and above 1700-1800 fps.
