I will have to agree with Drilling Man but I don't have the means to own one. My choice would be a valmet 412 30-06 12 gauge comb. gun probable the most accurate out of the box rifle I have ever owned [8D]

I have several remington, 1100,870,597,and 700ml. Never had any trouble so far. My next purchase will be a 700bdl caliber yet to be determined as I am new to HI PO's.

Hey .338-06 imp.,

Did Remington say what they did to the rifle?? Was it a bedding problem????

In the "old" days, i made 99% of the rifles i worked on (all brands) shoot better with "bedding changes". Some brands are just plain easier to bed, and Remington is at the top of my list for that!

Rem. said they chamfered the muzzel and lapped the barrel. What ever they did it worked and took about 2 weeks from start to finish. not to bad of customer service in my book!

N3YWV - And after reading all of thes 10 pages I'm still not certain what gun I want next. Perhaps a Marlinn 336c chambered in 35 Remington or a Smith and Wesson 357 magnum revolver with a 6 inch barrel Choices Choices Choices.
