Considering the ~75 particular Governments around the world which choose the AK-47, 74, and variants, I think this is a really, really silly statement.
I might hold more esteem for the fact the government which holds far and away the most powerful and technologically advanced military in the world does NOT use the AK-47 or its variants in any issued service. You can learn a lot by taking note of what winners do, and equally of what they DON’T do.
To each his own...but I have no qualms about target shooting with my "commie" AK variant firearms.
May I note: I heard from a U.S. Vietnam War veteran on the web...that even though some of them preferred wielding the AK-47 in combat over the M16, it was inadvisable for them to use; because they might be targeted by their own friendlies, just by the look, sound and rate of fire by the AK-47.
