30 30 sling
 

I'd like to get a sling for my model 94, any recommendations? I've never had a sling put on before and I'm not sure how to go about it.

I have this sling for my Marlin .30-30 and I hate it.



It's a cowhide double looping sling from Cabelas.

It is supposed to hold tight around the barrel and around the stock, but, the top loop around the barrel slides around too much and I worry that it's totally slip off and I'll drop my .30-30 on the ground!

I know there are better slings that include the mounting adapter that goes around the magazine tube, but don't know how well they work.

I use a traditional 1 inch leather sling on my model 94. Had to add the stud to the rear stock and went with a clamp on stud that clamps to the magazine tube.
