Got my new Carry Gun!
 

Went to the local gunshop tonite to do some looking at 1911s, and one of 'em followed me home :DGot myself a Kimber Pro CDPII. I've shot it 15 times so far (in the dark), and it appears to be very accurate. I had a 32 ounce powerade bottle that I set out at 30 yards or so and I think I hit it at least 10 times judging by the holes in it. I didn't figure that was too bad for it being -12 with a 25mph wind tonite.

awesome!! them kimbers are a sweet pistol!

couple months back dad GAVE me one...cant remember what model..it was similar sized but all black..either tactical or custom model...

i gave it back and traded him for a glock 22 in 40 for it...i just know in a year and a half the glock is likely to be my duty pistol and will see more use from me than that kimber...now to find me a compact glock to carry.....till then i will most likely carry the 22..in college so i wont be carrying much at all..just mainly hunting and fishing in the back woods..

Thanks fellas! I've been saving my whole life for a 1911, and now I finally have one. I went to just look tonite, and I'm like, thats enough looking!

I need to get a good concealed holster for it now. Any reccomendations?

I'll get a shoulder holster for it as well, later down the line.

I carried an Ultra CDP for a few years working in the gun shop and concealed. When I left that particular shop I traded it for a NIB Beretta shotgun and $200 cash... I came out ahead.

They are one sweet pistol. They shoot extremely well.. though I never could hit anything with it. Honestly I think you made the choice I should have made and gone with the Pro... longer grip and longer barrel... yet still very concealable... little bit easier to shoot.

Nice purchase... enjoy it... hope you never get to shoot it! If you know what I mean...

how come pistols cost so much? compared to a rifle? isn't there less material in a pistol? are there some good cheap ones out there? Can get ar ifle for $700, every pistol I've seen is that much or more. Just surprised pistols cost what ive seen em at.

The kimbers are very nice. Our department does not allow us to carry them so I had to settle on a colt.

I need a good concealed IWB holster. Any reccomendations?

Also, it needs to warm up so I can start shooting this thing without freezing to death!
