Ruger Red Label
I have a 12 ga. o/u that I bought used a few years back. My question is, does anyone have one that has 2 3/4" stamped on the barrel. I found out the gun was made in the late 80's and everyone I have talked to says Red Labels were always 2-3/4" & 3" compatable. I tried shooting the 3" under controlled circumstances and the gun was fine, I have been using 3" since. Could this have been a screw up by Ruger or what<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle> Any thoughts....

RE: Ruger Red Label
You have a strange one there. As far as I know all were 3" chambered.
However The 20ga R.L. was introuduced in 1977 and the 12 ga appeared in 1982.The book I have here says that the 12 ga chambers were 2.75"(2 3/4") and 3". Barrels 26",28" and 30". I would contact Ruger about this. They do not accept Emails but can be contacted at Sturm, Ruger& Co.Inc 411 Sunapee Street, Newport NH 03773 1-603 863-2000 or 863-3300. I'm curious about this.
