Stainless Steel Shotguns & Slug Guns?
Are there any? What have you seen? I've seen stainless firearms of course, but, I don't recall seeing much in the way of Stainless Steel slug or shotguns. Maybe Stainless Steel can't handle the load in a typical shotgun configuration (thin barrels & receivers, etc.)?
I'm thinking a fully rifled 20 gauge heavy barreled single shot with scope mount, synthetic stock, and stainless steel construction would be nice. New England Firearms / Marlin / Ruger etc. please take note...

Mossberg and Remington both make a pump shotgun that is Nickel plated that could be mistaken for stainless steel. H&R has a .410 they call a 'Tamer' that is also a matte nickel finish.
Sporting Arms Mfg. is marketing a stainless steel .410 called the 'Snake Charmer II'.
Rossi is marketing a "Matched Pair" combo single shot that comes in a "stainless steel finish" with one barrel being a .22LR and the other barrel is a .410. Note, it is not an over and under.
Ruger is marketing a matte stainless steel o/u with synthetic stock and forend that comes in 12 gauge. It really looks cool. They also have a trap gun that is stainless but the rib doesn't appear to be.
Hope this helps.

Umm you might get lucky and find one used for $300 but they usually go for aroung $550-$600. Also they do not shoot 3 1/2 only 2 3/4 and 3". 6 shot mag and sling with synthetic stocks and has a nifty 18' bbl. Here is the link to Rems website.

My thanks to all for the suggestions and tips. I,m currently looking closely at the H & R stuff. They have some fine and affordable single shot sluggers with the heavy barrel etc. I will probably want a 20 gauge, Can't use a .410 or a rifle for deer in my state (NJ) and I already have 12 gauge repeaters (Mossburg 500 & Remington 870 Xprs.) but do desire the accuracy range & simplicity that a fully rifled single shot slugger would bring me.

URBOB,
Go with the H&R Ultra Slug Hunter (12 or 20). Top off with a nice 2X or 4X scope. I guarentee you' ll never look back! (or have to look for blood trails either! LOL)
I got two of em now. A 12 in Deluxe and a 20 standard.
