How accurate: Bushmaster Varminter .223

I am considering the purchase of a Bushmaster Varminter .223 and was just wondering how accurate they are? Anyone have any experience with them? Any problems to be aware of? I would be using it for prarie dogs, coyotes, and any other light skinnned varmint I can find.

They are well made guns. For semi-autos ARs tend to be the most accurate of the bunch. The ones I have shot have all shot well. For a serious hunting rifle or dedicated hunting rifle I have my preferences, but if an AR is yours, it will certainly fit the bill nicely.

Im actually going to buy the varmint stainless special tonight. Supposed to be a good gun. I have read a lot of great things about them. I already own a Bushmaster M4 with the 16" barrel and it shoots great.

If you are that serious about buying another AR, wait. Shoot me a PM and tonight I'll get all of the info gathered up for you so that you can build one for a lot less.

Plenty accurate but you can build an equivalent yourself and save a couple hundred bucks. If you can change the oil in your truck, you can build up an AR.

How can I buil done cheaper? I have a buddy that is a colt armorer and he has a good friend that owns a gun shop so we can use him and his ffl to buy the receiver but I thought it was more expensive to piece it together.

if you build one stripped and i mine the lower is in pieces it is alittle cheaper due to the labor not used to assbl the gun
but i know alot of people who have built ars from the ground up and they do not work right.
Know if you know someone who works on them might be a idea for you.
i would just buy one complete if you know a ffl you might get one at cost

On AR15.com there is a guy selling stipped lowers for $100. If you order from him and put ARFCOM in the messages, shipping will be Free.

On Mapartsinc.com, they sell a Varmint upper in 18, 20, and 24" with a butt stock, trigger group, all pins needed and bolt for $525.

The last time that I ordered the 24" upper from them, it took a while for them to get it in and ship though. So if you can mind the wait, you have a $625 AR that shoots extremely good! If your friend will transfer the lower to you for free, then that will help with additional costs.
