Wondering if there is an adjustment I can make to lighten the trigger on my .204 Model 7

YES, you can. Read this article. I would keep the factory trigger, and adjust it to your liking. http://www.realguns.com/archives/060.htm

I suggest you contact Remington Customer Serviceand ask for an Owners' Manual for the M7. That should cointain instructions......

The M7 is an outstanding little rifle, BTW!! Probably the best thing Remington still makes.

No luck finding instructions from the owners manual...

All it says is to leave the trigger assembly alone or contact a Remington Gunsmith...

It looks like factory is anywhere from 5-6.75lbs. BOOOO

Thing is way to heavy, and I'm afraid it is causing me to pull on some of my shots.

DO you have a trigger pull gauge? If so it is a piece of cake . Does your trigger have creep or overtravel?

Then you might want to let someone that knows what their doing adjust it for you.

Those are the 3 adjustments a Rem trigger is capable of . Take it to a Gunsmith

Where do you live? I'd be happy to show you how to adjust it, and also to explain things like creep & overtravel....

Mine on my Model 7 is great.. I am not sure if it was adjusted or not.. But it is under 3lbs..

PLEASE READ!!!
Guys and gals be careful on givinginstuctions on trigger adjustments(especially to minors). This is a very dangerous area if you DON"T KNOW What you are doing PLEASE Take it to someone that does!!! This is not something that you want to play around with and accidently KILL someone in the process. Just my 2 cents!

Many thanks to eldeguello, who has offered to help explain things and show me how to adjust my trigger. Only living about 25 minutes from me...

About the minor thing, well not for quite a while now... Haha, I should change my username, but that is a pain... Thanks for the concern.

If you google up trigger job for remington model700 it will take you to a website that gives you detailed instructions on a remington trigger job,the website is quarterbore.com and a bunch of other # & letters I can't remember it works my rem.700SPS had about a 5lb9oz trigger now it breaks cleanly just under 2lbs just be careful and don't go to light for a hunting rifle,it also gives you instructions for safety checks.Check it out and be careful.I am assuming that the model7 has the same three adjustment screws as the 700's I have never owned a 7.But I have owned several mod.700's and this works great for me.

I thought I should post a follow-up/update:

BIG THANKS to eldeguello. I met up with him last weekend and he asjusted my trigger. We think it was somewhere around 5-6lbs from the factory. [:@]

He took his time and explained everything to me. When all was said and done, the trigger is now breaking right around 2.5lbs. And let me tell you, it is such a difference!

My .204 is now becoming the dream gun I had imagined. :D
