most accurate 30-30 cartridge brand
im sure some of you have shot several types of shells though you 30-30 to find the most accurate. and in different grains.
so my question is; what shoot best in yourlever action 30-30at 100yrds?
i got a marlin 336cs with a 4x leup on it.
ive tried remington 170 gr. with poor results!
and winchester 170gr. better but not by much!
what shall i try next? would like 1"groups! is it possable?

I have a Marlin 336 also. I have a cheap tasco scope that I bought becasue I didn't know any better at the time but has never let me down. I shoot the Leverevolutions by Hornady and get 1.25 groups at 100 yards out of it. They are 160 gr. and do a number on deer.

The best answer to this is, there isn't any (answer that is). You have to see what your particular rifle likes the best. Some rifles will shoot anything good and some can be downright finicky - sort of like women.

Ditto...
My Marlin .30-30 seems to prefer Winchester Silvertip 170gr over everything else. I tried Remington, Federal, and even generic reloads from a gun show and got the best groups with Winchester Silvertips.
Each rifle is unique. One will like a certain flavor of .30-30 ammo than the next - even if they are both the same make/models of rifles.

What Bronko said is true. Each gun is going to like something different, As Ruger mentioned the Hornady Leverevolutions have taken the accuracy in my Marlin 30-30 toa new level

All these guys are right about you having to find the right bullets for your gun. The Hornady's are the right ones for my gun is all. Go ahead and try them next "if" they work you'll never look back.

What shot best in my Winchester M 94was the 170-grain Remington Corelokt factory load. But I'm just as sure that it will be different for different guns, and you will not know which will shoot best in your rifle until you test a lot of different makes and bullet types....
