270Win.,280Rem. or 30/06
Which would be better for whitetail deer and black bear in Pa a 270,280 or a 30/06

RE: 270Win.,280Rem. or 30/06
Al though any of the three you listed would be perfect, the 30-06 would have the edge on big game out to 300 yards. The 280 or 270 would have the edge for game at ranges beyound that. You could not go wrong with the 280 for sure.

I haven't been here long, but I know that a rather large can o' worms has just been opened.

Any of the three will do fine but my preference is the 280rem.

RE: 270Win.,280Rem. or 30/06
as everyone said any of the three . I been trying to get a 280 Rem in the NEF with a 26" barrel and they are always sold out so it must be pretty popular .

30-06 Sprg. Good luck.

The .270 or .280 are both flatter than the '06, so I would go with either of those. The difference between the two is only on paper, and minimal even at that.

even though i am a big fan of the 280rem and have owned two 280rem's in the past. i would have to say the 30-06sprg. just for availability of a good premium round is hard to find and expensive compared to the 30-06sprg. if you reload i would definatly look at the 280rem.
