RE: rem 700 cdl
I bought a 700 CDL in 7mm-08 about four years ago. I simply love it. It has become my go-to deer rifle. Great accuracy with my handloads, mild recoil. The only drawback that I see at all is that they're just too darn pretty!!

New CDL is a good choice. My niece has usedthe7mm-08 in a Ruger M77 MKIIfor the last 4 years and loves it. She hasgotten a buck with thatrifle thepast 3 years and 2 does the fourth year.Caliber fits right in between .243 Winand .270 Win. Lower recoil helps most shooters avoid flinching and results in better accuracy. Great whitetail deer round.
Close equivalentcaliber is .260 Rem. It is a 6.5mm caliber bullet in a necked down .308 cartridge case instead of a 7mm bullet. You may want to check out this caliber as well.My wife shootsthe .260 Remington ina Browning A-Bolt and has filled her deer tag with one shot each of the last five years. |

The price on the has jumped up alot over that past few years. The CDL is still an excellent choice. Myself along with many others are in love with the 7mm-08, can't go wrong there either. Since I have a few 7mm-08s, my next rifle will be a CDL .25-06
