Want a plinking gun

I'm looking for a good plinking gun. Something that is cheap to shoot and not too expensive. I'm willing to spend up to $350. I am not looking for a .22.

Thanks

What are you expecting to be "plinking" at?

If you don't want a .22, what about the .17 HMR. I am amazed at how accurate they are in pretty much all makes and models. Sub 1" at 100 yards from a factory gun using factory ammo is possible.

Right now ammo is $13 or so for a box of 50 around here.Less than 1/2 the price of even cheapcenterfire ammo.

You can build up some confidence shooting it at paper or prarrie dogs, one accurate little gun.

I've shot both the marlin and savage models that sell around $200ish and they were both pretty accurate.

Diito! For $350 you can get a Savage with a decent scope and a thumbhole stock, and they are great shooters!

Well, when I go to the range when I'm all done sighting in and taking my time, I like to rip off 50 rds of something just to close up the day. My buddy also has alot of land nearby and sets up some targets and we shoot and ak47 and mosin nagant. I just want something fun to shoot. I am actually thinking of going with the hi-point 9mm carbine. It got great reviews, and I can get 1000 rds for $80. So I can get the gun and 1000 rds for $300.

If you want fun to shoot the 9mm hi point and an SKS are really hard to beat. I used to have a .22 mag semi auto pistol that was a blast to shoot as well.

Maybe an AR-15 then. They can be made to be both accurate and fun to shoot and the .223 rounds aren't that expensive... Yet!

Of course that blows your budget on the gun by about double!

Take your pick--hi point carbine, sks, saiga. All fall in your price range.

Would love a handgun, but I would need a permit. It's quite the process in NY. Thanks
