RE: Remington or Winchester 300 ultra mag?

The catalog is wrong. I am a FFL dealer and my suppliers list the M70 in 300 RUM in both the sporter LT and classic stainless configurations. I've seen good quantities of both listed at several suppliers so I know they exist.

Wow, MNhunter, a little sensitive about it ain't we. You have misunderstood me totally or let pure emotion and not logic get into your way. Kinda like my ex wife. You showed your intelligence when saying push feed was a marketing gimick. I would be most rifles out there are push feed these days. I really never see the gun makers try to market the push feed design. Its just a fact of life. Kinda like a car company having electronic programmable ignition or a distributor cap. I don't see the car companies today saying "Look we have electronic ignitions". Why, because, big woop, every car company does. Like guns, most have push feed. So how did they market it????

What I was trying to explain to you, (and I wasn't a rude SOB either), was people "pick pepper out of ant crap" these day when it comes to claw design or push feed. I mean the hammer hits, primer fires, powder burns, animal drops. Rifle worked, with or without some stupid guy paying twice as much for a Pre64 reciever. When my mod 70 reciever with push feed I got for 200 dollars killed just as well and maybe more repeatable accuracy. But you know the rich people these days, they have to have the most expensive or they didn't think they bought the best.

As far as my knowlege of rifles. Not an expert by no means. Just give my opinion. Free country and all. Can get most of my rifles to get 1" groups up to 200 yards with a little work from my gunsmith. I am not a gunsmith and don't try to act like one. Do my fair share of 800 yard shooting starting last year. Still learning how to read the wind better. I reload quite a bit (around 2000 pieces a year rifle and about the same pistol). So Mnhunter, I am curious on your rifle resume.
