Mak 90 Norinco

My buddy has a Mak 90 made by Norinco. I have to say that I was very impressed with how it felt in the hand and the look of the gun and parts etc... I also liked the grip and the way the palm was swelled. It has a thumbhole stock made out of wood.

What do you guys know about this gun? Accuracy? Dependability? History? etc...

How much do these guns run new?

Thanks

Tom

You can't buy them new anymore, they've been banned from import.

If you want a good new AK, you might want to check out a Bulgarian or Yugoslavian AK, both are really well made.

I used to be able to order them wholesale for $169.00. They were cheap, but everyone I owned or shot functioned 100%. With the import ban on Chinese weapons, they tend to bring $300.00 in excellent condition.

Briman,

By new I meant purchased at retail. The one I handled was really nice but you can tell it had been machined after the fact. I looked to me like some grinding was done to remove some decals that were onthe side.

Do you know what one of those MAK 90's would run retail?

Are they known for accuracy? I'll assume no since they are an AK-47 derivative.

I believe my buddies MAK 90 shoots .308 and not the 7.63x39. Does that make a difference in the quality of the gun?

i got a mac90 in the 7.62x39 and the last time i shot it i was camping in northern wisconsin and there was a boulder across the lake about 4' round maybe 3-400 yards away. had a 30rd clip full and emptied it at this rock. every round hit the rock which i thought wasnt bad for shooting with open site!! my buddies were aslo amazed! also shoot a few cans a about 100yrd. so i guess they aint so bad. in sure if u get the right bullets & a scope and maybe a mulles brakethey would be very accurate!

I don't remember ever seeing the Chinese Mak 90 in .308, but I could be wrong.
