Whatever you do, avoid Chinese SKS's, anything Chinese manufacturedis a POC.
We have one, it's made for Chinese people, since the stock is really short, but all the parts are stamped Russian, with cyrillic alphabet characters, and it's a pretty good shooter.

All have worked justfine for the 10+ yrs we have shot them & with quite a few thousand rounds threw them( thats with minimal cleaning or care& a lot of dust ,grit involved).Same for the chinese copys of theruski pistols we own( not quite as many rounds have we putthrew them tho)
