Kalinka Optics

Check out www.kalinkaoptics.com -- I can't believe these prices. Is this stuff as high quality as they claim -- it looks all well and good, but I'd prefer to hear from anyone who has experience with them as well. The gist is that they are high quality optics made using the knowledge and experience of East German engineering gained during the Cold War, but are simultaneously very affordable. My heart is set on a Leupold VX-II but if this is a legitimate bargain, I may change my mind.

12 month full factory warranty...I dont think so. How do they hold up under magnum recoil? I have not heard of this brand until you posted it so I would be very leery of it. I hate being a Guinea Pig for some manufacturer/Importer.

Ditto what oldelkhunter said. Furthermore you'll note they are very non-specific about describing the quality and features. I couldn't find anything being said about being water/fog proof. What they do say is; Compare it with its competitors from Leica, Zeiss, and Swarovski and you’ll find that it is every bit as capable at a fraction of the cost, really what does this double talk mean? You'll note they don't say every bit as good at a fraction of the cost . Nothing is really said about the lense quality except describing it as high and that there is no plastic. What about reticle type(s) and adjustment? Check out the eye relief on their PV 2 to 10 x 52 - said to be 68mm. this converted to inches is a little over 2 1/2 inches. And is it constant from 2X to 10X? Not very likely. There is no way I want my eye 2 1/2 inches or less away from the scope. The warranty is a joke - 12 months. Don't waste your money. Remember the old cliche, You get what you pay for. Buy the Leupold, you'll never be sorry. gg.

Yeah, you guys are right -- the closer you look at the website, the more it just appears to be a lot of hot air. Can't go wrong with the Leupold . . .
