Default Single vs. double scope bases?

Is one more inherently accurate or durablethan the other?

Outfitting a new gun next week and have guns with both styles, just need to know which if either is the more preferred for long range bolt action guns.

I know this subject has probably been covered before, but I haven't been able to get the search feature to work in a long while.

Thanks for the help.

I use a single piece mount. What Rifle are you setting up?

Burris it is, I need to place the order.
I'm using the Burris Signiture scope, might as well use the Burris Signiture rings to go with it!

I got the scope in a few days ago and it looks like it will do the trick.

I plan on picking the gun up from my dealer tomorrow.
No hurry on the final assembly I'll be hunting with other weaponsnext week .

A one piece base is held on with three screws where as a two piece base is held in place with four screws. A one piece base gets in the way when loading a bolt action rifle. Two piece bases look much cleaner on the gun than a one piece IMHO.

Weaver/ picitannystyle rings and bases, such as Warne, Leupold Mark4, Badger ord., Night Force, etc...are much much much stronger than Leupold, Redfield, Burristurn in style rings and bases.

IMHO if you want to use Burris rings and bases then use the XTB bases and ZEE rings. But IMHO Warne two piece bases and Warne Maxima rings are what I would use.

Not on any of the rifles i've ever owned ,they both use 4 holes. i like the single one piece better because you can move you scope forward or backward easier.

Then you have never used a one piece Leupold Base on a bolt gun. Leupold bases use 3 screws on thier bolt guns and 4 screws forsome of theauto rifles.
