RE: Win Mdl 70 triggers
They are completely adjustable and when adjusted properly are the best trigger on the market bar none. Timney and Jewell are 2 suppliers that come to mind for a replacement trigger. ANy trigger irregardless of gun should be tuned by a competent gunsmith.

RE: Win Mdl 70 triggers
Totally agree....the M-70 trigger is adjustable and with simple tools.....however the wrenches are small...It's a job for someone that knows what to do.....but it's an easy one.

RE: Win Mdl 70 triggers
I think they are one of the easiest triggers to work on. Not in the quality of some of the higher dollar rifles, but I prefer them to any of the Ruger/Remington/etc. triggers.

RE: Win Mdl 70 triggers
Not to get off topic or change the direction of this thread and although I agree completely with the comments on the virtues of the M 70 triggers, I also believe the Ruger triggers are often maligned unnecessarily. Out of the box the Ruger trigger is heavy but is till positive and without creep. Although not adjustable (like the M 70) a good gunsmith or anyone with the skill & knowhow can polish it to a nice crisp 3 1/2 lbs - ideal for a hunting rifle. gg.

RE: Win Mdl 70 triggers
Yep the Ruger trigger is maligned excessively and in the hands of a good gunsmith can be a very good trigger also. It is also like the Model 70 a simple design and in rough handling and conditions simple is better.

You can do it yourself but I would take it to a gunsmith...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I could only get mine down to 4.3 lbs before running out of slack in the nuts. Took it to a good 'smith to get it down to 3#.
