RE: THOMPSON ICON
I have had a chance to handle one at a local shop I am not impressed if you want to drop $1000.00 on a rifle I would buy a Sako they are far better rifles the in my opinion the Icon is way overrated i hope this helps chad

RE: THOMPSON ICON
I handled one as well, and I was way less than impressed. They took a $500 (I'm being generous) gun and slapped a $1000 price tag on it. And I am less than enthusiastic with the 30TC. They claim itduplicates the 30-06, which the 308 does a darn good job of at a much cheaper price and is more readily available. I think TC could have had something great here. But as it stands now it is probably there biggest mistake yet as a company. JMHO of course.

PAHUNTER, you might want to do a search on the Icon in the gun or the gun review forum.
Jeepkid, yes the rifles are supposedly shot for group, dont know how, but probably from a machine rest/fixture and not in their own stock. There is a computer generated test target simular to the Oehler M42 style that comes with the rifle.
As far as the laser engraving that can be applied to the stock , I would reccomend having it done by a local trophy/award shop. The one I have used charges $20-$30 for simple patterns. Just about anything can be done these days, I have used Corel software for this. Maybe I can scrounge up a picture of his work.
