I had that exact same gun in .257 wby. I recently traded it in on a vgx deluxe same caliber. Both guns are - were excellent shooters. I pay about $35.00-$40.00 (price went up about a month ago) for 100 grain spire points and low $40's for 115 grain ballistic tips from a local gun shop. You wont be disappointed with the performance of the cartridge or the rifle. I would like to hear how those tsx group in your rifle. Also, both my guns shoot better than the factory targets indicate.

You better go put some scratches in that stock in a hurry or you will forever be paranoid about marring the finish. Just kidding. That is one beautiful rifle. I have a .25-06 and like it very much. It is nearly perfect for deer and pronghorn antelope. The .257 Weatherby is the same only more. I have thought in the past I might like to have a .257 Weatherby also. Seeing your rifle adds fuel to that fire! YOu lucky dog. Enjoy.

I just got back from the range, it performed exceptionally well given the wind and cold I dealt with.

I only bought 1 box of ammo since Gander had it priced so high ($119.00) and I made sure each shot counted. I had it sighted in at 50 yards with 6 rounds, then when I moved it to 100 it was 3.5 inches high so I backed it down a little and went for two 3 shot groups. This was my results at 100 yards.

I pulled that last shot, I was so hoping for a 3 shot group with all the bullets touching and I'm certain that the gun and myself are plenty capable.

My 100 yard group versus the viced down factory sheet

Looks like it shoots pretty good for factory ammo. I'd bet you could shave another 1/4 to 1/2" off those groups with handloads (hint hint).
