That is a great looking gun, but you have almost as much in the box of ammo as you do in your scope. I have looked at Weatherby calibers several time over the years, and my cousins husband has a 257 Wby that he loves. I have never been able to afford the ammo,but I started reloading recently and might have to take another look.

Just got out of a gunstore and he handles vanguards. He had 2 one in blue/synthetic and a SS sporter in 257. The stock on it looks justlike yours. He gave me a pretty good price on it I thought . I didn't have the checkbook on me and I left it at home on purpose because his store is like a candy store. Another dealer equal distance from home has 1/2 dozen 257's in stock 2 MK V's and the rest are 257 vanguards. Submoa blued and a SS one and a custom shop special that he is willing to sell me at a very reasonable price. IN any event by next weekend one of these 257's are coming home with me and thanks to your post I am a few hundred dollars poorer.
