Ruger M77 Mark II Frontier Rifle?

This model in .243 is on sale locally including a scope. I have alway liked Ruger, and really like the features of this one. EXCEPT! The Frontier's only come with a 16 1/2" barrel?
Still a good long distance shooting machine? And what is Ruger thinking?

You mean what Ruger's advertising department was thinking...I kindof don't like the frontier the balance is not to my liking and I don't like the scout concept at all. Get a Regular M77 and put on a Trijicon Accupoint scope and it is superior.

I just realized the scope is not included. I agree with the balance thing. Might make a good saddle gun if you want bolt action, but for all practicality, I think I'll get the new Hawkeye. Interesting trigger for Ruger. I read the gunsmith's hate it. Ruger finally has a trigger that doesn't require a gunsmith to modify.
