In my area alot of dealers havent heard of the tikka whitetail..How much does the 30.06 sell for in your area..The wood and synthetic stock?

Rochelle i THINK the one i seen here was priced same as the savage 110 in 30-06 at wal-mart if not the price difrence wasnt much. The savages here are under 400$ i belive i heard there gonna disontinue making the whitetail serries.

Ouch i didnt think they where that much, glad ichose a savage. and your not the only person ive heard was unhappy with them replacing the whitetail series.

Hmm, I've only heard great things about the Whitetail, sounds like Tikka is just Finland's Savage. Does anyone know what the differences are between the Whitetail and the T3? It seems like Beretta shelved the Whitetail in order to introduce the T3 to compete with the Savages and similarly priced rifles. What did they have to cut off the Whitetail to get the T3? I guess it will all come out eventually but am curious if anyone knows now.

I dont know never owned a tikka, i remember on shortmags.org some people wherent happy there is a post there on the wsm forumn about the t3.

I think part of the reason that the T3 is generating some negative posts is the new action. Apparently the new Tikka T3 will only come in one action length. The shorter rounds will be accommodated with different magazines and a special bolt stop. On the short magnum forum this has gone over like a lead balloon. I'm not certain what the strategy was behind swapping out the Whitetail Hunter line with the T3, but it appears to be ill thought out. Falls into the category of "if it ain't broke don't fix it".
