Who makes a good quality, fairly inexpensive over and under for bird and maybe rabbit hunting.
Thanks

As in all things you get what you pay for. For an O/U that is dependable and that has withstood the test of time exspect to pay somewhere in the $1200 range. There's always a lot of good deals on used O/U's out there in the $750 -850 range.
You can always get a inexspensive O/U but ask yourself #1 is it going to hold up for the long haul and #2 if I have a problem is the service of the company any good. Browning,Beretta,Ruger,Fabarm, etc all have a proven track record. Look around and get what fits and feels good to you. Then look at the price.

Tk, Save up longer and buy a quality O/U instead of a inexpensive one.Browning Beretta, Ruger to name a few make excellent doubles. The old Remington 3200 was a quality shotgun.Check www.gunsamerica.com. You can find new and used quality O/U's for much less then Retail prices. The Ruger Red Labels are a fine shooting O/U.

RE: Over and Under

I only recommend two Over/unders.....the Browning Citori and the SKB in a new gun. For used guns, I include all the Maruku's. (SP?)

Maruku currently makes Browning's Over/under and also made the Winchester 101 and some early Charles Dalys. The Belguim made superposed must be added to the buy list however.

Ruger has a serious hit and miss record in customer satisfaction and While I think Beretta is a mechanically sound gun, it just don't fit me.

Franchi also makes a fine over/under, I have one, but not enough experience with it yet.

The odds of buying a less costly new O/U than the SKB 505 and not regretting it is slim in my opinion.
