....you pull off a group like this. Love my 7mm-08!!!! Groups usually average around the 3/4" mark, but occasionally I get a one holer like this one. I measured it wrong to start with. The 0.560 is outside edge to outside edge. Forgot to subtract the bullet diameter of .284. Actual group size is 0.267".
Dark lines are 1/2"..lighter lines are 1/4"

That's an great group! My first thought was that it was a bolt-action, but I then noticed that it was shot with a Rem 7600 pump! Is this grade of accuracy (honest sub-MOA) typical to the 7600? I had no idea.

This is the first Rem 7600 I've owned; however, before buying it I did a lot of asking around on the net. It seems that most 7600 pump shooters are primarilly hunters, not target shooters, andusually have a low powered scope on their rifles as well so they don't getreal tight groups at the range and really couldn't care less. Those of us that actually try can make a 7600 shoot right along withmost bolts.
The7600 comes with a free floated barrel and I've found the accuracy to be as good or better than the bolt actions I've owned. The 7600 factory trigger really sucks though and I had to get mine worked over by a good gunsmith. It came from the factory at a little over 7Lbs pulls weight with a lot of creep. Now it is a cleancrisp 3 1/4" pull..no creep.
I've got a 3-9x Burris scope on it and I hand roll my on rounds which helps a lot too. Like I said above, my 7600 averages arount 3/4" groups with my handloads. I tried some store bought 140Grn Fusions and best group I ever got out of them was 1 1/4". I'll stick to my hand loads.
As my signiture says....I do my best to "make that first shot count", but I really like the option of a very quick follow-up shot if I need one.

I sighted in my friends 7600 in.35 whelen last year and was impressed with the groups (Rem Core-lokts). I didn't measure them but it outshot his model 700 in 6mm which I also sighted in that day.

They used to only make the pump Rems in 7-08 in limited runs. Find a gun dealer that can order from a distributercalled Grice Wholesale, they keep a lot of special run Rems.
And to answer the accuracy of Remington Pumps, as a rule they are great shooters.
