I think they each make a quality firearm, but each is better than the others in some specific markets...

To me, its got to be Marlin. For a good all around rifle, you just cant beat a Marlin Levergun.

It has been at least 100 years since the "best" could possibly include a gunmade in USA, if ever! Maybe a Parker shotgun or a Winchester Model 21. BEST guns are those made in England, followed closely by those made in Germany and/or Austria! Next comes Belgium, Finland, and nowadays, Japan!! Not necessarily in that order, either.
