Rechambering a gun??

I was looking at a model 94 the other day that was rechambered from a 30/30 to a 38-55.
Is this something that people do often?
Is it safe and reliable?
What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

Your going to have to rebore the barrel as well or rebarrel. Might as well just buy a 38/55

The gun I was looking at has already had those thingsdone to it and is currently shooting 38-55. I'm asking those questions based on that.

Thanks!

I. not too big on a gun that has had the barrel rebored unless there is plenty of wall thickness left around the bore. I would much rather just have a rifle that has been rebarreld.

Based on that the 38-55 is no high intensity round so it should be fine
