How do you clean you 22 or 17?
 

How do you clean your 22 or 17 caliber after a day of shooting?
How do you clean all the gunk out of the barrel if it's a new gun?

I like to spray them down and then use a pull through bore snake. Does a great job and is the easiest way Ive found.

its a rifle i clean it like any other rifle i own...get some solvent in the action..clean the bore then scrub the action and lightly oil it all...works for me..me and my 100$ 22 are best friends...everyone would call the gun junk and the scope on it too..i have a 20$ tasco 4x on it...i can hold 5 shot groups in a dime at 50ft easy...imagine if i had higher magnifing glass and a good 22....i think alot of people cant shoot 22s accurately and have so many problems is because they say oh its only a 22 it dont need cleaned!...

Boresnake in the field and cleaning rod in the gunroom before I put it away .

Out of all the people iknow wiht 22's only 1 cleans his, but then again they dont realy take care of any firearm they own.

I usually just clean the action on my 22's, and only clean the bore when I know I wont be shooting it again for awhile. The 17 is another matter, as it shoots jacketed bullets, the accuracy will start going south after about 40 shots and the copper fouling must be removed to restore good shooting. I use a 17 caliber rod and cloth patches along with Sweets 7.62 to get the fouling out.
