I was watching Tv when i saw a Advertisment for the Sako 85 i was wandering if it is any good....

I prefer the Sako 75 over the 85 and as for any good, I think the Sako rifles are pretty good. :eek: But that’s just my opinion...:D

Okay... never tried either... but my Cousin birthday is in 3 days so i need to get him a good gun =)

Sako makes a good rifle. Also look at Tikka. They are made by Sako. I just got a Tikka T3 Stainless Lite in 300 WSM for $608. They also had a Tikka T3 in 338 Win Mag for $520. Tikkas come with a MOA guarantee. It felt really good the first time i shoulderd it so i got it and love it!

Your cousin is very lucky if you have intentions on getting a Sako for his birthday. Just a little note, I have three Sako rifles at this time and wouldn’t mind getting a couple more 75’s that is...;)

I took a good hard look at the 85's and I like them. I like controlled round feeding much better than push feeding. The 75's have a nice extractor already, but the 85's seem better.I am thinking of picking up a 300win mag. Hey trailer, any things that jump out at you, that you don't like about the 85's?

Yeah, the synthetic stock on the 85’s is something I just don’t care about. They have the butt made in 2 pieces. The cheek piece can be changed if required for a left hand shooter. Just don’t like the seam on that butt. For me the 85’s look like a Tikka.... Now the varmint and laminated model resembles the 75 with the Monte Carlo stock. Very nice , although I haven’t seen one up close... I’m starting to see Sako 85’s listed in the 300 WM. It’s about time...
