12G Mossberg 500 Sabots
 

Went to the range with my dad today to put some sabots through the new rifled barrel and scope combo that he put on his 12G Mossberg 500. The remmington solid copper sabots did not group well at all. Typical grouping was 4"-6" at 50 yards. The winchester XP3's were a totally different animal. They shot sub 2" groups. Hopefully we will get to see how they perform on deer.

With the cost of sabot's as high as it is I just thought I would pass this info along. Has anyone shot the Hornady SST's out of a Mossberg 500 ??

when i get my Mossberg 500 in a week i will pick up some xp3s and sst's and let you know of coarse with just buying the gun i just hope i do sub 2" GROUP with anything

The Lightfield Hybreds shoot pretty good out of my 500. Here's 6 shots at 100 yards. The other holes were from Remington Copper Solids.

well i shot the sst's with my 20ga at 100 yards and it was about 1 or a half an inch to the left without touching anything.
