Youth Mossburg 500 Combo 20 Gauge
 

My 12 year old daugther wants to start hunting and I want to invest in a gun that she will get the most out of. Here in Southern Michigan / NW Ohio we can only use Shotgun or BP for deer so I think this is our best choice.

Your opinion is more than welcome.

She is a good sized 12 year old girlso the gun will be good for her for a long time. It comes with a slug barrel and smooth bore for shot. It was on sale last week at DICKS for $249 might have to stop in tonight and see if it still is.

I've never owned a 500 is this a good gun for her / us to invest in?

Get it! I have one in 20 ga and it's a jewel. My son is 12 and doesn't have a problem shooting it. I wish I had the rifledbarrell for it, although we don't use those much here.

Yes, get as fast as you can go to mossberg.com and look at the price difference it is a very good deal and they are good guns my dad has one and he likes it alot.

My son has shot deer with his every year since he was 7, he is now 11. I did get him a slug barrel for it last year and itreally improved the accuracy, but most are pretty good with a smooth barrel. If that one comes with the slug barrel, it is a good price.
