I know I want a 700 in a .300 caliber but not sure what the better model is, cdl, bdl what? Keep in mind that I am turning this into a custom tactical sniper rifle so does it really matter?

Why not get the 700xcr tactical in 300win mag. Already set up for what you want. Check Remington site underneath tactical firearms. 700xcr comes in 223,308 and 300win. mag. Stainless with black Tr-nyte coating. Fluited 26" bull barrel and a Bell and Carlson full aluimium pillar block. X-Mark adjustable trigger.

Forgot to mention I have the standard Remington 700xcr in 270wsm and love it. I am getting a chronograped 3200fps with factory 150gr. Winchester Power Point ammo and getting 1/2" groups. I haven't even started to reload for it yet. I topped it of with Burris Euro-Diamond 2.5x10x44mm objective. Has the Ballistic Plex retical. Used Warne bases and rings.

If you are going to use it for a build then none of them. Just buy a bare action from Midway and start from there. Or just by the 700P, or the Sendero and call it good.

If you want one to shoot out of the box then maybe the xcr is the choice.
