RE: new 7mm ultra mag

I own a Remington 700 LSS in 7mmRUM. I am a big fan of the .284/7mm bullet because of it accuracy. The Ultra Mag is a real powerhouse cartridge capable of taking any game in North America with the right bullet selection. Excellent long range capabilities. Recoil is a little strong, but managable. I used my rifle this year during deer season and droped a 5 point in its track at around 130 yeards according to my Bushnell range finder. I was using factory 160gr Nosler Partitions. For deer, 140gr would have done the same job I suppose. Any way, I think its an excellent cartridge that shoud gain popularity as time progresses. If you reload, the bullet choices are much greater. Are planning to hunt with the 7mmRUM? If so, what game will you be hunting???

Congrats on your new toy. You can hunt anything in NA and not worry. You got a great caliber there. Have fun with it.

just make sure u don't shoot it to much :) an overbore cartridge like that will eat your barrel really fast.
